Summer Benton is an author and illustrator from Michigan who has been drawing and writing stories since she was a kid. She studied art and literature at the University of Michigan, where her love for children’s books first took root. After graduating, Summer taught a variety of art classes to students ages 4-12, an experience that reinforced her love of working with kids and inspired her debut works.

Summer is passionate about crafting stories that make kids laugh while helping them explore their emotions and the world around them. These days, you can find her drawing flowers and animals and dreaming up adventures for them—just like she’s always loved to do.
